'der Kiefer' and 'das Kinn' both belong to the lower area of the face and are therefore easy to confuse. 'Der Kiefer' is the jawbone in which the teeth sit. For example, people talk about the 'Oberkiefer' (upper jaw) or 'Unterkiefer' (lower jaw). 'Das Kinn' is the visible part at the very bottom of the face, under the mouth. If the topic is teeth, biting, or pain while chewing, 'Kiefer' usually fits. If you mean the appearance of the face, 'Kinn' is more likely to fit.
