'Diszipliniert' (disciplined) is formally the past participle of the verb 'disziplinieren' (to discipline). Like many participles in German, it is very often used as an adjective to describe a quality.
Ein disziplinierter Mensch erreicht seine Ziele oft schneller.
A disciplined person often reaches their goals faster.
The adjective 'diszipliniert' (disciplined) belongs to the word family of the noun 'die Disziplin' (discipline). If someone has 'Disziplin' (discipline), then that person is 'diszipliniert' (disciplined).
Ohne Disziplin ist es schwer, jeden Tag diszipliniert zu sein.
Without discipline, it is hard to be disciplined every day.
The adjective often describes the way in which an activity is carried out. Common combinations are 'diszipliniert arbeiten' (to work in a disciplined way), 'diszipliniert trainieren' (to train in a disciplined way), or 'diszipliniert essen' (to eat in a disciplined way).
Die Athletin trainiert sehr diszipliniert für die Meisterschaft.
The athlete trains in a very disciplined way for the championship.

'ordentlich' and 'diszipliniert' both have to do with order and rules. 'ordentlich' often describes the result: a room is tidy, a piece of work is correct, or behavior follows the rules. 'diszipliniert' describes more the person or the way of working: someone controls themselves, stays consistent, and follows rules or plans. The words can be confused because a disciplined person often also works neatly. Still, the focus is different. 'ordentlich' asks more: What does it look like, or how was it done? 'diszipliniert' asks more: How does someone behave over a longer period of time?

Für die Prüfung lernt Paul jeden Abend diszipliniert eine Stunde.
Paul studies in a disciplined way for one hour every evening for the exam.
Nach dem Gespräch lege ich die Unterlagen wieder ordentlich in den Ordner.
After the conversation, I put the documents back neatly in the folder.
