'Drug' is borrowed from English and sounds colloquial or like youth slang in German. The words are therefore easy to confuse, especially if you know English. In neutral or serious conversations, you should use 'Droge'. 'Drug' fits better in casual language or when you are deliberately using English slang.
In der Serie nennt die Gruppe jede neue Droge einfach einen Drug.
