exclusive vs allein

alone / only

'allein' and 'exclusive' both have to do with exclusion: the idea is that only one person, group, or thing is meant. 'allein' is used very generally in the sense of 'only' or 'exclusively'. 'exclusive' describes more that something is intended only for a particular group and that others are not included. It often sounds like access, an offer, a right, or special use. The words can be confused because both set a boundary. But 'allein' is a normal word for many sentences, while 'exclusive' more often describes who something is reserved for or intended for.
