The quality or state of being inactive and having an aversion to work, effort, or activity. It describes a lack of willingness to make an effort.

'Bequemlichkeit' and 'Faulheit' can both have to do with little effort. 'Bequemlichkeit' can be neutral or even positive when something is pleasant and comfortable. But it can also mean that someone wants to avoid effort. 'Faulheit' is more strongly negative and clearly means that someone does not want to work or make an effort. The words can be confused because both can explain why someone chooses the easy way. When it is about comfort, 'Bequemlichkeit' fits; when it is about a lack of willingness to work, 'Faulheit' fits.
