A simple, usually unpaved path or track that leads through fields, meadows, or woods and is mainly used by farmers or walkers.

The word is built very logically. It consists of 'das Feld' (the field) and 'der Weg' (the path/way). A 'Feldweg' (farm track) is therefore literally a path that leads through fields or past fields.

Since farm tracks are often unpaved, they are frequently described with adjectives such as 'holprig' (bumpy), 'staubig' (dusty), 'schmal' (narrow), or 'matschig' (muddy).
Nach dem starken Regen war der Feldweg sehr matschig.
After the heavy rain, the farm track was very muddy.
To describe movement on the path, German uses 'auf dem Feldweg' (on the farm track, with dative). To emphasize a direction along the path, you say 'den Feldweg entlang' (along the farm track, with accusative).

'der Pfad' and 'der Feldweg' both refer to simple ways or tracks that are often not paved. A 'Pfad' is usually very narrow and mainly intended for people on foot. A 'Feldweg' is wider and typically leads through fields, meadows, or sometimes along the edge of a forest. It is often also used by tractors or other vehicles. The words can be confused because both feel rural and simple. If the way is very narrow, you are more likely to say 'Pfad'. If it lies between fields and is also used for farming, 'Feldweg' fits better.
Nach dem Regen war der Feldweg so matschig, dass der Traktor nur langsam fahren konnte.
