geduldig vs ruhig
quiet / calm
'ruhig' and 'geduldig' can both describe people who do not become nervous or angry. The difference lies in the reason or situation. 'ruhig' describes a general inner state: someone is calm or not agitated. 'geduldig' is used especially when someone has to wait, endures something difficult, or explains something again and again. Learners may confuse the words because patient people often also seem calm. As a practical rule: when it is about waiting or enduring something, 'geduldig' is more precise. When it is only about calmness, 'ruhig' fits better.

Der Lehrer erklärt die Aufgabe geduldig, bis alle sie verstehen.
