To have the intention or willingness to do something. Used almost exclusively in combination with the verb 'sein' (to be).
Ich bin gewillt, Ihnen bei dieser Angelegenheit zu helfen, wenn Sie ehrlich zu mir sind.
I am willing to help you with this matter if you are honest with me.
'Gewillt' (willing) is formally the past participle of the verb 'wollen' (to want). It is closely related to 'der Wille' (the will/intention) and therefore expresses a strong willingness or firm decision.
Er ist gewillt, die volle Verantwortung zu übernehmen.
He is willing to take full responsibility.
'Gewillt' (willing) is almost always used in the fixed construction 'gewillt sein, etwas zu tun' (to be willing to do something). It is followed by an infinitive clause with 'zu' that describes what someone is willing to do.
Die Firma ist gewillt, die Preise zu senken.
The company is willing to lower the prices.
The expression 'gewillt sein' (to be willing) belongs to a rather formal or elevated style. It is often found in written language, in official contexts, or when one wants to emphasize a deliberate decision.
Der Minister war nicht gewillt, auf die Forderungen einzugehen.

'bereit' and 'gewillt' can both express that someone is willing to do something. 'bereit' is very normal in everyday language and can also mean being prepared. You can be ready or willing to help, to start, or to take on a task. 'gewillt' more strongly means that someone has a firm intention. It sounds more formal and is almost always used with 'sein' and 'zu': 'gewillt sein, etwas zu tun' (to be willing to do something). Learners may confuse the words because both describe willingness. In normal conversations, 'bereit' usually fits best. 'gewillt' fits more when you want to emphasize a clear, determined attitude.
Nach dem Gespräch ist sie gewillt, mehr für die Prüfung zu lernen.
