'Lehrplan' and 'Stundenplan' both belong to learning and the organization of lessons, but they do not mean the same thing. The 'Lehrplan' says which content and goals should be covered in a subject or grade level. So it answers the question: What should be learned? The 'Stundenplan' shows when lessons or other activities take place, often with the time, subject, and room. It answers the question: What is happening when? Learners may confuse the words because both kinds of plans occur in school. The important point is: the curriculum organizes content, while the timetable organizes times.
