'wohlwollend' and 'lobend' are both positive, but they emphasize different things. 'wohlwollend' describes a friendly and supportive attitude. A person is open, fair, and means well toward someone. 'lobend' is more about words, gestures, or remarks with which someone explicitly shows recognition. So you can be wohlwollend without directly praising someone. 'lobend' is especially suitable when someone says something positive about a performance or a person.
