The amount of water vapor in the air, usually given as relative humidity in percent.

The word is a clear compound of 'die Luft' (air) and 'die Feuchtigkeit' (moisture/humidity). 'Feuchtigkeit' itself is derived from the adjective 'feucht' (moist/damp). So the word literally describes the moisture in the air.
