A term borrowed from English that describes the process of producing or creating something. It is used almost exclusively as part of the term 'Making-of', which refers to documentation about the creation of a film or product.

'die Produktion' and 'das Making' can both have to do with the creation of a film, show, or product. 'Produktion' is the normal German word for the whole organizational and artistic production process. 'das Making' is used in German almost only in 'Making-of'. This usually means a documentary that shows how something was created. The words can be confused because both point to the production process. For the actual process, people usually say 'Produktion'. For a behind-the-scenes look, people say 'Making-of'.
