This adjective is used almost exclusively predicatively, meaning after the noun with a verb like 'sein' (to be) or 'machen' (to make). Using it directly before a noun (attributively) is very unusual and sounds unnatural.

A very common fixed expression is 'so schnell wie possible'. It is the Germanized version of the English 'as soon as possible' (ASAP).
