'der Beitrag' and 'die Prämie' can both refer to payments in the area of insurance. 'Beitrag' is a general word for a regular payment, for example to an insurance company or a club. In insurance, 'Prämie' can also mean the regular payment. But it can also be an additional reward or bonus. So 'Prämie' is not automatically the same as 'Beitrag'. Learners may confuse the words because both appear in contracts. For memberships, 'Beitrag' is normal. In insurance, both can occur, but 'Prämie' sounds more specifically connected to insurance or to a bonus.
