'der Ski' and 'das Snowboard' are both pieces of sports equipment for snow. You use both to go down a slope. The important difference is the shape and the stance: when skiing, you normally have two narrow skis, one on each foot. On a snowboard, both feet stand on one wide board. Learners may confuse the words because both belong to winter sports. If you are talking about two separate boards or the activity of skiing, 'Ski' fits. If you mean a wide board for both feet, 'Snowboard' fits.
