'Insekt' and 'Skorpion' both refer to small animals that some people perceive as similar, especially when they crawl or seem dangerous. Biologically, however, they are different. An insect typically has six legs, for example an ant, a fly, or a beetle. A scorpion is not an insect, but an arachnid. It has a curved tail with a venomous stinger. The confusion can happen easily because both can be small and are often seen as 'Krabbeltiere' (creepy-crawlies). To be precise: do not call a scorpion an insect.
