'stuttgarter' and 'schwäbisch' can be confused because Stuttgart is located in the Swabia region. However, 'stuttgarter' refers only to the city of Stuttgart or to something that belongs to Stuttgart. 'schwäbisch' is broader: it refers to the Swabia region, its people, culture, or dialect. So you say 'Stuttgarter Bahnhof' (Stuttgart train station) when talking about the city, but 'schwäbischer Dialekt' (Swabian dialect) when talking about the regional language. In addition, 'schwäbisch' can also be used for typical ideas about Swabians, such as thriftiness.
