'zahlreich' and 'zahlenmäßig' both have to do with number, but they do not mean the same thing. 'zahlreich' means that there are many of something. 'zahlenmäßig' means that something is considered in terms of its number or quantity, often in a comparison. The words can be confused because both come from the word 'Zahl' (number). For example, you say 'zahlreiche Gäste' (numerous guests) when many guests are there. But you say 'zahlenmäßig stärker' (stronger in numbers) when one group is larger in terms of number.
