zugute vs helfen
to help
'helfen' and 'zugutekommen' both describe something having a positive benefit. 'helfen' is more direct: a person supports someone, or something works against a problem. 'zugutekommen' is used more when a benefit reaches someone or something, often as the result of an action or situation. For example, you can say that money, experience, or a decision 'jemandem zugutekommt' (benefits someone). In everyday language, 'helfen' sounds simpler and more personal, while 'zugutekommen' sounds somewhat more formal and objective.
