A logical or factual connection or relationship between different things, people, or events.

context
The context or circumstances in which something happens or is said and which are important for understanding it. Often used in the expression 'aus dem Zusammenhang gerissen' (taken out of context).
Seine Aussage wurde aus dem Zusammenhang gerissen und klang deshalb völlig falsch.
His statement was taken out of context and therefore sounded completely wrong.
'Zusammenhang' (connection / context) consists of 'zusammen' (together) and 'hangen' (an old form of hängen, to hang). So it literally describes things that are connected with each other or 'zusammen hängen' (hang together).
Alle diese Ereignisse hängen zusammen.
All these events are connected.
To express a connection between two or more things, the preposition 'zwischen' (between) is almost always used. The pattern is: 'der Zusammenhang zwischen A und B' (the connection between A and B).
Gibt es einen Zusammenhang zwischen seiner Krankheit und dem Stress bei der Arbeit?
Is there a connection between his illness and the stress at work?
Common verbs are 'einen Zusammenhang herstellen' (to establish a connection), 'einen Zusammenhang sehen' (to see a connection), or 'einen Zusammenhang erkennen' (to recognize a connection). Another very common phrase is 'in diesem Zusammenhang' (in this context / connection).

The meaning 'Kontext' (context) occurs almost exclusively in the fixed expression 'etwas aus dem Zusammenhang reißen' (to take something out of context). It means that a statement is reproduced without the necessary context and is therefore misleading.
Das Zitat wurde in der Zeitung komplett aus dem Zusammenhang gerissen.
The quote was taken completely out of context in the newspaper.
connection / association
Both words can describe an objective relationship between two things or events. „Verbindung“ tends to emphasize a direct or established link, while „Zusammenhang“ explains the logical context or interaction. „Verbindung“ fits when referring to a combination; „Zusammenhang“ is usually better for an explanatory relationship.
Der Zusammenhang zwischen starkem Regen und Hochwasser wurde im Bericht erklärt.
The connection between heavy rain and flooding was explained in the report.
