zwangsweise vs freiwillig

voluntary

'freiwillig' and 'zwangsweise' are clear opposites. 'freiwillig' is used when someone does something of their own free will and is not forced to do it. 'zwangsweise' means that something happens because of pressure, obligation, or external circumstances. When your own decision is important, 'freiwillig' fits. When someone has no real choice, 'zwangsweise' is more accurate.

Visual example for freiwillig
zwangsweise

Der Gast musste den Raum zwangsweise verlassen, weil die Veranstaltung beendet war.

The guest had to leave the room because the event was over.

freiwillig
