Alge vs Moos
moss / cash
'Moos' and 'Alge' are both simple, often green plants or plant-like organisms that can occur in damp places. Still, they are not the same thing. 'Moos' usually grows on land, for example on the forest floor, stones, or tree bark. 'Algen' usually live in water, for example in lakes, in the sea, or in an aquarium. They can be confused because both look green and like damp environments. As a guide: green cushions on stone or soil are usually moss, while green layers in water are more likely algae.
