'Auskennen' (to know one's way around / to be knowledgeable) is a separable verb that is always used reflexively. So you always need a reflexive pronoun (mich, dich, sich, etc.), and the prefix 'aus-' comes at the end in a main clause.
Ich kenne mich in dieser Stadt überhaupt nicht aus.
I don't know my way around this city at all.
To name the area of knowledge, use 'mit' + dative for topics or things. For places or geographic areas, use 'in' + dative.
Meine Kollegin kennt sich sehr gut mit dieser Software aus.
My colleague knows this software very well.
The verb consists of 'kennen' (to know) and the prefix 'aus-'. The prefix strengthens the meaning of 'kennen' and expresses deep, thorough knowledge—as if you know something from the inside ('aus').
Er ist Experte und kennt sich mit dem Thema wirklich aus.
He is an expert and really knows the topic well.

'wissen' and 'sich auskennen' can both mean that someone has information. But 'wissen' also works for individual facts: you can know a time, a name, or an answer. 'sich auskennen' is used more when someone has a lot of experience in a subject, in a place, or with something and can find their way around well. That is why you would not naturally say: 'Ich kenne mich die Uhrzeit aus.' You say: 'Ich weiß die Uhrzeit.' (I know the time.) But: 'Ich kenne mich mit Computern aus.' (I know a lot about computers.) The confusion arises because both have to do with knowledge. Memory tip: 'wissen' for a piece of information, 'sich auskennen' for a field or a place.
