Besuch and Besucher can both refer to people who come to someone’s home. Besuch refers more to the people as a group, while Besucher highlights individual people and can be counted. Use Besuch for the situation as a whole and Besucher when you want to treat the people as individuals.

Heute kommen drei Besucher zum Abendessen zu mir.
Three visitors are coming to my place for dinner today.
Heute habe ich Besuch, denn meine Nachbarn kommen zum Abendessen.
I have company today because my neighbors are coming over for dinner.
