'Vereinsheim' sounds very general in German and fits many kinds of associations or clubs. 'Clubhaus' is used especially often for sports clubs, golf clubs, tennis clubs, or similar groups. It can sound somewhat more modern or somewhat more upscale, but it does not have to. Learners can easily confuse the words because a club is often also a 'Verein'. If the association or club itself is the focus, 'Vereinsheim' sounds very natural. If you are talking about a club or sports facility, 'Clubhaus' often fits better.
