dito vs auch

also / even

'auch' and 'dito' both express that something applies additionally or in the same way. 'auch' is very general and usually appears in a full sentence. You use it when adding a person, thing, or action. 'dito' is much shorter and often works as a response when you want to say: The same applies to me or to this person too. Learners may confuse the words because both can mean 'likewise' or 'also'. In practice: in normal sentences, 'auch' is almost always more natural; 'dito' sounds like a short agreement or repetition.
