'die Auswahl' and 'der Draft' both have to do with selecting. 'Auswahl' is the normal general word for a decision between several options. 'Draft' is much more specific and belongs mainly to North American professional sports. There, teams take turns selecting young players and acquiring rights to them. Learners may confuse the words because a draft is a kind of selection. But not every selection is a draft. For everyday life, school, work, or shopping, you use 'Auswahl'. 'Draft' only fits in this special sports context.
