durchstarten vs beginnen

to begin

'beginnen' and 'durchstarten' both have to do with a start. 'beginnen' only says that something begins, and it is neutral. 'durchstarten' means more: someone starts with a lot of energy and often with success. It fits especially when talking about work, plans, sports, or personal goals. So you can 'eine Ausbildung beginnen' (begin a training program), but you 'beruflich durchstarten' (take off professionally) when things move ahead quickly and positively.

Visual example for beginnen
durchstarten

Nach dem Kurs will Julia in ihrem neuen Beruf richtig durchstarten.

After the course, Julia wants to really take off in her new profession.

beginnen

Die Mitarbeiterin hat im neuen Team ruhig mit ihrer Aufgabe begonnen.

The employee calmly began her task in the new team.
