Nach dem Unfall wurde der Fahrer sofort ins nächste Krankenhaus eingeliefert.

Usage tips
Separable verb
'Einliefern' (to admit/deliver) is a separable verb. The prefix 'ein-' comes at the end in main clauses. In subordinate clauses and in the infinitive with 'zu', the verb stays together.
EXAMPLE
Der Rettungsdienst lieferte den Patienten schnell ein.
The emergency service admitted the patient quickly.
Use in the passive
This verb is very often used in the passive, especially when people are brought to a clinic or institution. The focus is on the person something happens to, not on the person performing the action.
EXAMPLE
Der Verletzte wurde in die Notaufnahme eingeliefert.
The injured person was admitted to the emergency room.
Context clue
The meaning of 'einliefern' (to admit/deliver) becomes clear from the place. 'Ins Krankenhaus' (to the hospital) points to a medical situation, 'in die Justizvollzugsanstalt' (to the correctional facility) to an official measure, and an object like 'Waren' (goods) to a delivery.
EXAMPLE
Der Einbrecher wurde nach seiner Festnahme eingeliefert.
The burglar was taken in after his arrest.
Register
In the meaning of 'Waren abgeben' (to hand over goods), 'einliefern' (to deliver) belongs more to technical or business language. It sounds more formal than other verbs with a similar meaning.
EXAMPLE
Der Lieferant muss die Ware bis spätestens 16 Uhr einliefern.
The supplier must deliver the goods by 4 p.m. at the latest.

einliefern vs aufnehmen
to record / take in
'aufnehmen' and 'einliefern' can both be used when a person enters an institution, especially a hospital. But the perspective is different. A hospital 'nimmt einen Patienten auf' (admits / takes in a patient), meaning it registers and treats the patient there. Someone else 'liefert eine Person ein' (has a person admitted / brings a person in), meaning they bring the person there, often because of an emergency or an official decision. That is why you are more likely to say: 'Der Patient wird ins Krankenhaus eingeliefert' (the patient is admitted to the hospital), but: 'Das Krankenhaus nimmt den Patienten auf' (the hospital admits the patient).
einliefern
Nach dem Unfall wurde die Radfahrerin ins Krankenhaus eingeliefert.
After the accident, the cyclist was admitted to the hospital.
aufnehmen
Das Krankenhaus nimmt den verletzten Fahrer sofort auf.
The hospital admits the injured driver immediately.
