'Fluchtweg' is more specific: it is intended for emergencies, for example in case of fire, and must be kept clear. Learners may confuse the words because an escape route often also leads to an exit. In everyday language, you usually say 'Ausgang'. For safety, alarms, or fire protection, 'Fluchtweg' is more precise.
