To accelerate a process or development or drive it forward with emphasis. One tries to make something happen faster or more intensively than normal.

to force
To force or impose something by force or effort. This is often used in a military context for breaking through a defensive line, or in a sports context for a forced attack.

to strain
To overstrain the voice when speaking or singing by speaking or singing too loudly or with too much pressure. This can lead to hoarseness or voice problems.

As a verb ending in '-ieren', 'forcieren' (to push forward / to force) is regular and forms the past participle without 'ge-'. So it is 'er hat forciert' (he pushed/forced) and not 'er hat geforciert'.

Use Durchsetzen for the goal that has been achieved, and Forcieren for actively pursuing something with determination.
