'Glühwein' and 'Punsch' are both drinks that are often served hot in winter and may contain spices. 'Glühwein' is more specific: it consists of hot wine with spices and is normally alcoholic. 'Punsch' is more general. It can be hot or cold and can be made from juice, wine, rum, sugar, and spices. There is also alcohol-free 'Punsch'. Learners confuse the words especially at Christmas markets, because both are sold there. If it is definitely spiced hot wine, you say 'Glühwein'. If the drink is mixed or can also be non-alcoholic, 'Punsch' is more appropriate.
