'Hinfliegen' (to fly there) consists of 'hin' and 'fliegen' (to fly) and is separable. In a main clause, 'hin' appears at the end; in a subordinate clause, the verb stays together. With the infinitive using 'zu', 'zu' comes between 'hin' and 'fliegen'.
Wir fliegen nächste Woche hin.
We're flying there next week.
Sie freut sich, weil wir nächste Woche hinfliegen.
She's happy because we're flying there next week.
Wir haben vor, nächste Woche hinzufliegen.
We plan to fly there next week.
In both meanings, 'hinfliegen' (to fly there / to fall) forms the perfect tense with 'sein' (to be). This also applies when someone falls to the ground.
Wir sind für ein Wochenende hingeflogen.
We flew there for a weekend.
Ich bin auf der nassen Treppe hingeflogen.
I fell on the wet stairs.
The destination does not have to be stated in the same sentence with 'hinfliegen' (to fly there). It is often already known from the conversation; 'hin' then refers to this destination.
Wenn du mir von deinem Urlaub auf Kreta erzählst, möchte ich am liebsten sofort hinfliegen.
Whenever you tell me about your vacation in Crete, I just want to fly there right away.
Words such as 'glatt' (slippery), 'Stolpern' (to trip), or 'Glatteis' (black ice) point to the meaning of falling. 'Fast' (almost) or 'beinahe' (nearly) are also often used when a fall was just barely avoided.
Bei dem Glatteis wäre ich beinahe hingeflogen.
I almost fell on the black ice.
