hinfort vs fort

away / forth

„Fort“ and „hinfort“ can both occur in an exclamation telling someone to leave. „Fort!“ is the short form, which is still understandable today, while „Hinfort!“ sounds outdated and is therefore strongly marked stylistically. In a current everyday situation, „Fort!“ is more suitable; „Hinfort!“ is mainly used in older or deliberately archaic language.
