'der Stand' and 'der Infostand' can both mean a spot at a trade fair, market, or event. 'der Stand' is the general word: something can be sold, shown, or explained there. 'der Infostand' is more specific. There you get information about a topic, an organization, or an offer. Learners may confuse the words because an 'Infostand' is also a type of 'Stand'. But when it is clearly about advice or information, 'Infostand' sounds more precise.
