koreanisch vs Koreaner

Korean

'koreanisch' and 'Koreaner' both have to do with Korea, but grammatically they do not belong to the same group. 'koreanisch' describes something, for example food, music, culture, or language. Written with a capital letter as 'Koreanisch', it means the language. 'der Koreaner', on the other hand, is a male person from Korea or of Korean descent. Learners may confuse the words because in some languages the same form is used for the language, origin, and person. In German, you say: 'eine koreanische Serie' (a Korean series), 'Koreanisch lernen' (to learn Korean), but 'ein Koreaner' for a person.
