'Landwirtschaft' and 'Landbau' can be very similar because both refer to the systematic use of soil to produce products. 'Landwirtschaft' is the more common and more general everyday term and can also include livestock farming. 'Landbau' sounds more technical or written and often refers especially to growing plants on the land. The words can be confused because 'Landbau' is sometimes used almost like 'Landwirtschaft'. In normal conversations, 'Landwirtschaft' usually fits. In specialist texts, or when the topic is soil and crop cultivation, 'Landbau' may sound more natural.
