'die Übertragung' and 'der Livestream' can both mean that people see or hear an event through media. 'Übertragung' is more general and fits television, radio, or the internet. It does not necessarily have to be live. 'Livestream' is more specific: it runs over the internet and shows or broadcasts something in real time while it is happening. The words can be confused because a livestream is a type of 'Übertragung' (broadcast). If you are talking generally about a broadcast, 'Übertragung' fits. If you mean a live broadcast on the internet, 'Livestream' is more precise.
