Both words belong to left-wing, anti-capitalist ideas about society. Sozialismus describes, more broadly, an aspired-to social and economic order with collective ownership, whereas Marxismus is a specific theory developed by Marx and Engels that analyzes class struggles. Use Marxismus when this theory is meant.
