Usage tips

Compare with

confusable

nachher vs danach

afterward / after that

Danach clearly refers to an event that has been mentioned and means “after this event.” Nachher usually points from the present moment to a later time in general, but it can also refer back to something that has just been mentioned. When there is an explicitly stated reference, danach is clearer.
