A term used especially in Austria for the practice of a doctor or dentist. The term can refer both to the premises and to consultation hours.

The use of 'Ordination' (doctor's office) for a medical practice is common mainly in Austria. In Germany, the word 'Praxis' is used instead.

Both words refer to a doctor's office or professional premises. Praxis is the usual term throughout the German-speaking world, while Ordination is used especially in Austria and can there also mean the doctor's consultation hours. Outside Austria, Praxis is normally the appropriate term.

In Vienna, my family doctor has her office in the third district.
