Eastern Front
A military-historical term for the theaters of war in Eastern Europe, especially during the First and Second World Wars. The term usually refers to the front line between German and Russian or Soviet troops.

'Ostfront' is much more specific and refers especially to historical theaters of war in Eastern Europe, above all in the World Wars. They can be confused because 'Ostfront' is a type of 'Front'. If the direction or historical context is not important, you simply say 'Front'.
