parcel locker
An automated facility where you can pick up and send parcels and small packages around the clock. These stations are often operated by postal and parcel services.
Ich lasse mir meine Online-Bestellungen immer an die Packstation liefern, weil ich tagsüber nicht zu Hause bin.
I always have my online orders delivered to the parcel locker because I'm not at home during the day.
The word 'Packstation' is made up of the parts 'Pack-' and 'Station.' 'Pack-' comes from 'Paket' (parcel/package) or 'packen' (to pack), and 'Station' refers to a fixed place. So it is literally a station for parcels.
Die nächste Packstation ist nur fünf Minuten von hier entfernt.
The nearest parcel locker is only five minutes from here.
Pay attention to the preposition and the case. If you send a package there, it is 'an die Packstation' (to the parcel locker; accusative). If you pick up a package from there, use 'an der Packstation' (at the parcel locker) or 'aus der Packstation' (from the parcel locker), with the dative.
Ich habe das Paket an die Packstation 123 geschickt.
I sent the package to parcel locker 123.

Typical verbs in connection with 'die Packstation' (parcel locker) are '(an eine Packstation) liefern lassen' (to have something delivered to a parcel locker), '(aus einer Packstation) abholen' (to pick up from a parcel locker), and '(über eine Packstation) versenden' (to send via a parcel locker).
