'die Farm' and 'die Plantage' can both be large agricultural operations. However, 'Farm' is a general word for agriculture with animals or plants. 'Plantage' is more specific: it usually refers to a place in warm countries where a particular crop is grown in large quantities, for example coffee, bananas, or cotton. The words can be confused because both refer to large fields and production. For mixed agriculture, 'Farm' fits; for growing a single crop on a large scale, 'Plantage' is better.
