'Rebe' (vine/grapevine) is the base word for many terms related to winegrowing. If you know 'Rebe', you will also understand words like 'Rebsorte' (grape variety, e.g., Riesling) or 'Rebstock' (another word for the whole plant).
Welche Rebsorte wird in dieser Region hauptsächlich angebaut?
Which grape variety is mainly grown in this region?
In connection with viticulture, vines, usually in the plural, are 'angebaut' (grown), 'gepflegt' (cared for), or 'geschnitten' (pruned) in winter. They grow in a 'Weinberg' (vineyard) and are looked after by a 'Winzer' (winegrower).
Im Herbst beginnt die Lese der Reben.
In autumn, the grape harvest begins.
The plural 'die Reben' almost always refers to the grapevines in the vineyard (meaning m01). When 'einer Rebe' is used in the singular, it can also mean a single shoot of the plant (meaning m02).
Die Reben an diesem Hang sind über 50 Jahre alt.
The grapevines on this slope are over 50 years old.
wine
'der Wein' and 'die Rebe' can both refer to the plant on which grapes grow. In everyday language, however, people usually think of the drink when they hear 'der Wein'. For the plant, 'die Rebe' is more precise and clearer. 'die Rebe' can also mean a single shoot of this plant. Learners may confuse the words because 'Wein' sometimes also stands for the grapevine in short form. When talking about the drink, only 'der Wein' fits. When talking about the plant in the vineyard, 'die Rebe' is usually more natural.

Im Weinberg schneidet der Bauer im Frühjahr die alten Reben zurück.
In the vineyard, the farmer cuts back the old vines in spring.
Der Wein an der Hauswand trägt dieses Jahr viele Trauben.
The vine on the house wall is bearing many grapes this year.
