'die Entscheidung' and 'die Resolution' can both refer to a result that has been decided. 'Entscheidung' is very general: a person, a court, an authority, or a group can make an 'Entscheidung'. 'Resolution' is much more specific. It is a formal, usually written decision by a political or organizational assembly, for example a parliament or an international organization. The words can be confused because a 'Resolution' also contains a decision. But in everyday life or for personal choices, you do not say 'Resolution'; you say 'Entscheidung'.
