'seitlich' and 'seitig' look very similar, but they are used differently. 'seitlich' describes a position or direction at the side: something is on the left, on the right, or comes from the side. 'seitig' is used almost only in compound words such as 'einseitig', 'zweiseitig', or 'mehrseitig'. In those cases, it is about the number of sides, surfaces, or parties involved. Learners easily confuse the words because both have to do with 'Seite' (side/page). In practice: for location or direction, say 'seitlich'; for compounds with the number or type of sides, use '-seitig'.
