Pay attention to the prepositions and the case: Movement toward a place is expressed with 'in' + accusative ('ins Stadion' — into/to the stadium). Being at a place is described with 'in' + dative ('im Stadion' — in/at the stadium).
Am Wochenende gehen wir ins Stadion.
At the weekend we're going to the stadium.
Common adjectives used with 'Stadion' (stadium) are 'voll' (full), 'leer' (empty), 'ausverkauft' (sold out), 'modern' (modern), or 'alt' (old). Typical verbs are 'ins Stadion gehen/fahren' (to go/drive to the stadium) or 'ein Stadion füllen' (to fill a stadium).

'Stadion' is often combined with a sport or a name to describe it more precisely. Examples are 'Fußballstadion' (football stadium), 'Leichtathletikstadion' (athletics stadium), or 'Olympiastadion' (Olympic Stadium).

'die Halle' and 'das Stadion' can both be large places for sports, concerts, or events. The important difference is: a 'Halle' is covered and often a large indoor space. A 'Stadion' is a large sports facility with stands, usually open or only partly covered. So you are more likely to say 'Sporthalle' (sports hall) when the game takes place indoors, and 'Stadion' when talking about football, athletics, or a large concert with many spectator seats. The words can be confused because both are large and can have an audience.
