A 'Statistiker' is more specialized in statistics: he collects, calculates, and interprets data using statistical methods. The words can be confused because both evaluate data. 'Analyst' is broader and also fits business, IT, or markets. 'Statistiker' is more precise when it is really about statistics as a field.
