stürmen vs rennen

to run

'rennen' and 'stürmen' both describe fast movement. 'rennen' is the normal word for someone running very fast or hurrying. 'stürmen' sounds stronger and more restless: one person or many people move suddenly, forcefully, and often with great pressure toward a goal. It can also mean that a place is attacked by force. If someone is simply moving quickly on foot, 'rennen' fits. If the movement seems wild, sudden, or involves a crowd, 'stürmen' is more precise.

Visual example for rennen

rennen
